After studying business administration at the University of Western Ontario, in Canada, Tobias started in a sales position at Procter & Gamble and then moved to Andersen Consulting, known today as Accenture. Following this he gained his MBA at the renowned Swiss business school IMD (International Institution for Management Development) in Lausanne.

His career has included positions with Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart, and Bertelsmann AG in Gutersloh and Munich, where Tobias held management positions in sales and marketing. As assistant to the CEO of Bertelsmann AG he gained first-hand experience of strategy and leadership in a globally-active company.

His management expertise includes the restructuring and realignment of companies and business portfolios covering Germany, Eastern Europe, South Africa and the United States of America. He has managed up to 1,500 staff and - closely linked to that - recruited and developed managers to take on senior positions in Germany and abroad.

Tobias Tafel possesses line-management experience in multinational corporations and also in medium sized companies and has detailed market knowledge of manufacturing industries, automotive, consumer goods, publishing companies and media as well as consulting and services. He is fluent in English.
