His studies in business management at the LMU (Ludwig -Maximilians-Universität) in Munich, led Jürn to his first position as a financial controller at an American consumer goods company, where he worked for two years. In 1996, he joined the world's premier provider of executive search and management-consulting services firm Heidrick & Struggles. During his 6 years as an executive search consultant, he worked at finding suitable candidates for high-level technical and executive positions at home and abroad.

Jürn spent two years as an Associate Director for Heidrick & Struggles in Brazil, and played an integral part in establishing their offices in São Paulo. Under his management, the research department with a staff of 12 and a "German Desk" were set up, and the internal organization of the office was adapted to match international standards.

In 2004, Jürn-F. Konitzer became an advisor at Dr. Stoebe, Kern & Partner, one of Germany's leading consulting firms for outplacement and coaching. As an advisor for companies as well as individual managers and specialists, he developed solutions for companies and employees, which made smooth separations possible.

Since the establishment of KONITZER & TAFEL, Jürn, with the support of a small team and an expert network, advises executives and industrial specialists on how to reach their career goals. His clients come from medium-size family businesses as well as internationally active companies. During his many years of industrial experience focused on career management, Jürn has acquired extensive knowledge of various industries, including chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods as well as trading, consulting, IT, and financial services.

Jürn-F. Konitzer is additionally qualified as a business coach (NLP master) and a certified DISG Trainer, and also lectures on career planning and development. He speaks fluent English and Portuguese.
